5:18pm: Free comic sent to you
Hello everyone!

While Beast Brain is still on hiatus, I am plugging away on my new print series The Flickers. Issue #1 and #2 are out in one convienient 64-page flip book (not the flip books that you flip and little characters do jumping jacks, but, the kind of flip book with two covers like Youngblood #1). If you send me a self-addressed comic-sized envelope with about $2.00 postage (or send me your adress and $2.00 to my paypal account at gabecrate@yahoo.com), I will send you the book for free.

Once again, my personal journal is [info]asturd and most news pertaining to the comics is updated at [info]flophousecomics.

Also, if you are interested please visit my website http://www.flophousecomics.com .

10:24am: whoops!
Hello folks.
Some of you may remember the beast brain comic i was attempting to do weekly through
livejournal. As you may also have realized...i stopped doing it. I have many excuses for stopping not the least of these is the fact that I moved three times in one year(I'm now happily settled in Berkeley California)and started a new career as a manga letterer for VIZ comics.
I am still very ashamed for abandoning my little guys and hope to eventually get back to them.

As a peace offering for all those of you who were horribly devastated by my absence:
Go to http://www.flophousecomics.com and check out my new printed series The Flickers...

If you'd like just send a SASE(comic size/postage) to the address on the site and I can send you an advance
copy when it comes back from the printer in November.

Also... If you think you'd enjoy a comic on LJ that is committed to excellence try Tony Walsh's Rat Boy.

also I have a journal of my own for my real life(warning some of it is very un-interesting and personal).

Thanks!

My girlfriend and I are in the middle of moving to SF. So no, I haven't given up on doing the strip...I am just insanely busy. See you in a couple weeks when I am comfy in my new home. It is nice apartment three blocks from the Full House house (Y'know mary kate n' Stamos's Pad). We are very excited.

12:33pm: Hello again
First off thanks to everyone who wrote in for sketches...groovygravy yours will be coming soon.
Second thanks for sticking around while i settle in to a stylistic groove (aka the awkward period). My intention was to use a loose style that i could have fun with and do quickly...as it turns out cartooning is very time consuming no matter what.

Question: Does anyone know of a website with audio interviews of people perhaps cartoonists or writers? I know the comics journal has a rotating interview archive but...anything else anywhere ? I am sick of music and talk radio while i work. help?

P.S comments are definitely appreciated. Cartooning is a lonely game.

He does recommend checking out the hilarious www.Achewood.com (read the archives from the beginning).
